Universal Plans a Live-Action Remake of Vexille Anime Film
According to numerous sources, Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to create a live action remake of the popular 2007 anime CG film ‘Vexille – 2077 Isolation of Japan’. Which is set in 2077 Japan and follows a female agent named Vexille who has been dispatched in Tokyo to investigate the development of Japanese robotic technology, which has been banned by the U.N.
The new remake will feature a script by Evan Spiliotopoulos and will be produced by Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson. Whilst Lisa Zabri will serve as the executive producer.
The original film received a DVD release in North america courtesy of Funimation back in 2008.
