The Flama posted a video of Afro-Latinos dealing with their hair. There's a movement in the Black community, and that is the natural hair movement. We can face a lot of judgement and negativity when we wear our hair in its natural state.
I remember where I grabbed a pair of hair scissors and chopped all of my relaxed ends, and allowed my curly hair to sprout -- I received a lot of mixed reactions. I think there were more negative reactions within the Latino community, specifically from those who were close to me.
Curly. Kinky. Locked. Cut. Whatever.
Our hair is our hair, and it's beautiful.
