Today is the 20 year anniversary of Mark Morrison's hit track "Return Of The Mack!"
While this isn't Biggie's "Juicy," or Tupac's "California Love," this is still a classic.
It's in that same lane that Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It." I mean, have you ever been at a party, on your third brew and been upset that the DJ threw this on? I think not. It's one of those melodic, Friday night bar hoppin' classics.
Personally, I believe this captures the feel-good bounce of the 90's perfectly. The chorus is catchy and his voice is unique. The craziest part of the song is that when you really listen to the lyrics, it's a song about empowering yourself after vicious heartbreak. Who knew sad moments could possess so much bounce?
Anyway, do yourself a favor, hit the bar, run to the jukebox, throw a dollar in there and play this track tonight. I promise you that you won't regret it.
