Hey guys! Back with more fantasy baseball news to help everyone prepare for their upcoming drafts.
In fantasy baseball in 2016, the dreaded pick is 3rd. Everyone wants Mike Trout or Bryce Harper. After those two guys, everyone else in the first round many feel is a crap shoot for who comes out on top.
While many get upset over the third pick, I see it as a place of peace, as that locks me in for Andrew McCutchen. While many feel Trout and Harper are the best in baseball, Andrew in my opinion could end up with better seasons than both.
In 2015, A-Mac hit for a 292 avg, with 23 HR and 96 RBI.
He also showed great plate discipline, posting a 401 on-base percentage. Yeah, his steals were an all time low with 11, but he's shown he's more than capable in the past of nabbing 20-25 bags a year with ease.
The great part about Andrew is the Pirates have built a solid hitting lineup around him. The guys around him spray singles, which allow him the opportunity to post a career high in RBIs. It's not farfetched to think he could crack 110 RBI this year.
While many see the third pick as a death sentence, I think it takes the pressure off. Take Andrew and relax, he may be the best player overall after its all said and done.
Do you think Andrew McCutchen is the best player overall in fantasy baseball?
Madison Bumgarner is a better first round pick haha
Or Buster Posey ;) @DucktheFodgers
Nope. I would never take him over Trout or Harper haha. And if I had the third pick, I might choose a pitcher over McCutchen.
