2016 Sugoi Award Winners Announced!
Back in 2014 the Yomiuri Shimbun, one of Japan's largest news outlets, began a program called Sugoi Japan. The intent of this program has been to promote Japanese pop culture to the rest of the world by highlighting the key examples. These have take the shape of the Sugoi Japan Awards, for pop culture media in four categories: Anime, Manga, Light Novels, and Entertainment Novels.
In 2014 the first year of the awards, Madoka Magica took the title of top anime, while Attack on Titan took the top place for best manga. The awards have returned for 2016, with the winners just announced earlier today.
Here are the top five winners for each category!

Manga

1. One Punch Man

2. Tokyo Ghoul
3, Haikyuu!
4. Twittering birds never fly (aka Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai by Kou Yoneda)
5. Monster Musume - Everyday Life with Monster Girls

Anime

1. Your Lie in April

2. Shirobako
3. My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!
4. Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun
5. Psycho-Pass

Light Novel

1. Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?

2) Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend
3) Amagi Brilliant Park
4) Overlord
5) SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty

Entertainment Novels

1) The Empire of Corpses

2) Kaidantou series
3) The Murder of Alice
4) A Vow Fulfilled
5) BEATLESS
Some of these don't surprise me at all, especially for anime and manga.

I can set agree with anime and manga. Haven't read too many of the light novels to know tho. Monster musume was 5 for manga I was surprised but not surprised a weird feeling. It is good tho. And OP man wasn't surprising as a new dining manga that stormed Japan and ever parts of the world!!
