Welcome to Never Seen Before! A small collection where I'll be posting about anime I have seen little to no discussion about here on Vingle! Some of these animes might be your favorite, some might be unheard of. I thought it'd be a fun idea to share my little arsenal of shows I find interesting, and possibly give people new anime to watch!
Alright guys, this is the last card for this collection ( at least until I find some new anime, which could be quite a while.) I'm pretty sure a fair number of you have seen these shows before, but I don't think they get the credit they deserve. Maybe because they're older and I wasn't on Vingle at the time, but I'd like to revisit these anime regardless!
In some distant future, it's common knowledge that all wolves have been extinct for 200 years. However, it seems this is false as wolves have not disappeared but rather have taken human form. Kiba, a lone wolf, wanders into a city, trying to sniff out the Lunar Flowers that are supposed to lead whoever follows the scent to paradise. The source of the smell is Cheza, a girl who sleeps in what appears to be suspended animation in a lab. She and the wolves are drawn to each other, and Kiba hopes to find paradise once he finds the source of the scent of Lunar Flowers. However, once Kiba finds Cheza, she is kidnapped by a mysterious person called Darcia, and his search begins anew. Before he leaves the city, he meets 3 other wolves, Tsume, Hige and Toboe. All four wolves have very different personalities and ideas, and their friendliness towards each other is a little rough around the edges. However, they soon band together to continue to search for paradise.
If you haven't watched Wolf's Rain yet, just go do it. Right now. Just. Do. It.
Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone
After the second impact, all that remains of Japan is Tokyo-3, a city that's being attacked by giant creatures that seek to eradicate the human kind, called Angels. After not seeing his father for more than eight years, Shinji Ikari receives a phone call in which he is told to urgently come to the NERV Headquarters, an organization that deals with the destruction of the Angels through the use of giant mechs called Evas. Shinji's objective is to pilot the Eva Unit 01 while teaming up with the Eva Unit 00 pilot, Ayanami Rei.
Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance
In the earliest battles against the monstrous Angels, young Eva pilots Shinji and Rei were forced to carry humanity's hopes on their shoulders. Now, with the deadly onslaught of the Angels escalating and the apocalyptic Third Impact looming, Shinji and Rei find their burden shared by two new Eva pilots, the fiery Asuka and the mysterious Mari. Maneuvering their enormous Eva machines into combat, the four young souls fight desperately to save mankind from the heavens—but will they be able to save themselves?
I believe the third movie just got released not to long ago (Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo) I have yet to watch it but I've been waiting for it to come for a good year or two. This series is a bit on the dark side, so if you don't like traumatic issues and whatnot, you might want to pass this one up. I kind of ignored Neon Genesis Evangelion (the series) when it aired, but my understanding is that the movies are a reboot/remake of the series. Either way, I find the movies amazing, well done, captivating, and they're just a must watch. If you've been waiting for a good a mech anime since Gundam, this is it.
WARNING: THIS NEXT SERIES IS NOT FOR YOUNGINS!!! 18+ ONLY
I'm not posting anything explicit, so no buffer image needed. Although, the series does contain quite a bit of violence, gore, nudity, and sexual situations.
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc Movies
Guts, an immensely strong sword-for-hire, has little direction in his life, simply fighting one battle after the next. However, this all changes suddenly when he meets and is bested by Griffith, a beautiful and charismatic young man who leads the Band of the Hawk mercenary army. After Guts joins the Band and the relationship between the two men begins to blossom, Casca, the tough, lone swordswoman in the Band of the Hawk, struggles to accept Guts and the influence he has on the world around her. While the two men begin to fight together, Griffith continues to rise to power, all seemingly in order to reach his mysterious, prophesied goals. What lengths will Guts and Griffith go to in order to reach these goals, and where will fate take the two men?
I could only find the synopsis for the first and third movie (I try to use the same sight and it's not on there, feel free to google for yourselves though!) , so I'm only going to post the first one. I don't want to spoil anything even if it's just plot summary.
Again, I've never seen the actual series for Berserk. I've skimmed a few pages of the manga and it just made me want another movie lol Berserk is a bit older. The movies are a newer model of the series (correct me if I'm wrong please). I wasn't at all interested in watching them until my friend sat me down in front of the t.v. and basically begged me to watch it with him. And now I'm silently hoping they'll pick up after the Golden Age Arc and continue with the movies (please Kami-sama!!!)
Buuuutttt I wouldn't get my hopes up. It's been far too long since any news of a continuation has been discussed :(
