How many of us have them? Friends. The ones we can depend on. Okay, enough of the old school classics. Let's be real, we all have at least one best friend, a few close friends and a handful of acquaintances. While they say your parent shouldn't be your friend, my mom happens to be one of my closest. I grew up a daddy's girl, but somewhere between puberty and once I left for college, my relationship with my mom blossomed into something beautiful.
We share a bond that I honestly can't say I share with too many other people. She knows me inside and out, and for that I love her dearly. When your mom is one of your closest friends, sometimes you have to differentiate between the two roles of her being your mom and her being your friend. I would definitely say, the fact that we are friends makes our bond a lot stronger and I have absolutely no clue what I would do without out. If you have a close relationship with your mom, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. If you don't, keep scrolling and see for yourself the realities that come with your mom being one of your closest friends.

Asking about your personal life is second nature.

It's normal for your mom to ask about you ex boyfriend from years ago and any new guy in the picture just to be in the 'know'. Just know if you tell her there is no new guy in the picture, she will have ten more questions, so be prepared.

Texting and call each other throughout the day is pretty normal.

A lot of people who don't live with their parents don't really talk to them daily, but when your mom happens to be your friend your hotline is always blingin'. That isn't bae hitting your phone that's def mama.

You keep each other young.

While you're mother is aging, keeping her up to date with the newest texting lingo or fashion trends is always a good laugh -- even if she doesn't actually implement them into her daily life.

You value one another's opinion.

My mothers opinion means everything to me and vice versa. I know at the end of the day, she would give me her honest opinion on a topic even if it's not what I want to hear.

She may be your friend, but she will always be your mother.

Although my mom and I happen to have a very close relationship friend wise, at the end of the day I have to keep in mind that she is my mother first and foremost. I respect her so much and she does the same.

Do you have this type of relationship with anybody in your family?

I've always been really close with my mom. I moved out when I was 17, but still called her every day to tell her what was going on with school and just life, in general. When things didn't work out with the boyfriend I moved in with, 4 years later, she let me move back in with her. She has always been there for me. When I take my daughter to her house, her and I talk for hours before I leave. We text each other all the time, but we live about an hour away from each other, so we don't see each other very often.
LOL same! and I loved the drake reference @humairaa
yes my hotline is always blinging. Mama still thinks i'm a teenager!
