Are you good with your hands? Do you understand CAD? Do you understand how to use a screwdriver and tools? If you answered yes to any of those questions then you could probably modify and mess around with a steam controller. You see, I'm one of those guys who never learned the front or the back of a hammer.
So, I probably won't understand how to make my own or mess with my own steam controller. The only time I used AutoCAD, I was taking measurements for women's clothing stores. And honestly, that was such a long time ago, I don't even remember how to use the thing.
But it's still pretty cool that Valve did this. I mean, maybe you hate your steam controller and you also understand how to use tools. This would be perfect for you! Wouldn't it? I mean, you could spend all your free time tinkering with a controller you bought instead of teaching your son how to use a screwdriver, right?
That sounds like a great plan because 20-something years later, your son will have a leaky toilet and won't have any idea on how to fix it because you were too busy tinkering with a goddamned controller to teach your son how to use his hands the way they were supposed to be used.
