So I've been dieting for the past month or so, and it's been far from a party. I've had to pass up on my favorite potato chips, fried chicken and tacos, and pretty much all the other more indulgent/greasy foods I used to eat a whole bunch of.
But one of the hardest things to cut from my diet has been desserts. I love really pretty cupcakes and decadent pastries. But, apparently, not all desserts have to be bad for you. One restaurant, Bistro La Porte Marseille in Nagoya, Japan, has created a way for those watching their waistlines CAN have their cake - and eat it, too!

Introducing 'vegideco salads' - salads creativity built to look just like cakes!

These sweet-looking cakes are actually deceptively savory, with root vegetable garnish, layers of carrot, cabbage, and cucumber, and a 'frosting' made of tofu or cream cheese.

Every cake is packed with popular 'superfood' veggies, and the restaurant boasts that they're also gluten-free and low in carbohydrates.

A slice of these cakes go for around 735 yen ($6.50 USD) and come with a side of dressing made with koji, a fermented rice with tons of health and beauty benefits.
