GoNNER is Creepy, Action-Packed, and Strangely Cute
When this trailer fell onto my lap this morning, I looked at some of the screenshots and immediately thought I that I wouldn't like it. Especially since it's described as a 2D Action Platformer/Roguelike. And I've played tons of roguelikes over the past year or so and I don't know if I could take another.
But after watching the trailer, it looks strangely appealing to me. And I think the main appeal comes from seeing the game in action. You can get an idea at the weird creepy artstyle by looking at the screen above but you really don't get how cute (yes, cute) that little guy looks shambling around unless you see it in motion.
That's probably the main reason why I'm excited for this game. It has this strange sense of cuteness or charm that I can't really put my finger on until I play it. It seems like it's kind of a dark game which is fine, but with the simple art-style it gets that charm that I'm talking about.
Although, it's still a 2D Action Platformer/Roguelike, so it'll probably make me want to rip my hair out if I end up playing it. But I hope to hear more about this game as the year goes on just so I can get a better idea of what I'm getting into if I decide to purchase it. What do you guys think about it?
GoNNER will be available for PC and Mac sometime this year.
