Welcome to 'Sweet Talk' where I'll be highlighting some phrases in other languages that I think we can all connect with!

Today we have Maná who tell a pretty heartbreaking story about love in their song En El Muelle De San Blas.
I found out about this song in a Spanish class in high school and have been in love ever since. It's about a woman whose lover leaves her and promises he will return.
She waits every day by the shore hoping to see his ship return.

Let's learn a phrase from it now!

Listen at 2:13 to hear the phrase and to help with pronunciation!

Sola - Alone (feminine)

Con - With

Su amor - Her love

Sola con su amor - Alone with her love.

To say "alone with my love" simply say "solo (if you're female, "use sola") con mi amor"

Have you ever had to wait for someone you loved?

that's my favorite song by them! that gave me a flashback to my hometown..
