Sometimes you just can't make it to the nail salon.

In that situation, you opt to do your own nails. Running to find the nail polish remover only to find out that you're fresh out and have to use a bottle of acetone nearly a decade old is never the best option -- or an option at all. As we all know, or as we all should know -- acetone is extremely powerful and unhealthy for your nails.
If you're wondering why you're nails are dry, brittle and the like, do yourself a favor and lay off the acetone. If words aren't enough to keep you away from any brand of nail polish remover that happens to contain acetone, maybe the video below will. Keep scrolling, if you dare.
Just know, if a product has the ability to remove permanent marker and dissolve a plastic cup -- that's nothing you want to mess with.
Always look for the non-acetone brand when shopping for polish removers.

Do you use nail polish remover with acetone?

@esha you said it girl! It is a really strong agent. Nails are like, the toughest thing on us!
oh wow! see, learn something new everyday lol thank you for that fun fact. next time I get super glue on my fingers, I will definitely reach for the acetone haha @TurtleyTurtles
Wow! That was a really neat thing to watch! I want to try it now! I do use nail polish with acetone, but I don't use it very often at all. I'm that girl that never goes to the salon to get my nails done, and has the same polish on for weeks. It chips within a couple of days, and I just don't have the time or want to keep up on it very often. Reason why you should have nail polish remover with acetone in it: If you ever get super glue on your skin for any reason, acetone will take it right off. A tube of the gel super glue broke open on me, and glued my fingers to it! Luckily, I had recently watched an episode of Outrageous Acts of Science, where they shared this tip. Although, it did eat away at the finish on my cheap coffee cup, it kinda saved me that night. Just something to keep in the back of your mind. 馃槉
