Twitter To Stream Thursday Night Football Games
You may not have noticed, but over the past year Twitter has slowed down in regards to grabbing new users.
In an effort to expand exposure and interaction for the social media platform, Twitter beat out other contenders to reach a deal with the National Football League to stream Thursday Night Football games.
Twitter reportedly paid less than $10 million for the 10-game package.
In a statement released Tuesday, the NFL says the streams will be free, and won't require viewers to authenticate through a cable subscription to watch. "Twitter is where live events unfold and is the right partner for the NFL as we take the latest step in serving fans around the world live NFL football," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in a statement.
While many may think is a sound business moves on both parts, I question the long term vision and effects this merger can have on the sport. I honestly can't stand when people are at events on their phone instead of enjoying the game. I am sure the NFL will find every way possible to get people talking about the game on social media, but can't we focus our commentary for after the experience?

Do you think that Twitter live streaming the game is a good or bad thing?

Do you think constant tweeting about the game will help or hurt the focus on the live experience?
