A) Most black lights that are available for sale in Australia are safe to use. UV Blacklights with dangerous wavelengths are not normally available for sale to the general public. UV Black Light Tubes are good if you are trying to light an area where there are only normal white light fluorescent lighting. You can get these from electrical wholesalers. Black Light bulbs are a good, cheap and cost effective method of buying UV black lights. We recommend buying energy efficient globes rather that the old style globes. The old style globes don’t work as well as the new energy efficient globes. You can get these from your local hardware store. You will need to check your light fittings before buying black light bulbs to check if you have bayonet or screw in fittings. 2014 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

This beautiful festival has been taking place in New Mexico for over 40 years, this year being one of the biggest yet! This past weekend, more than 600 balloons took to the skies. The Balloon Fiesta is a nine day event that wrapped up this past weekend with plenty of events. One of my favorites is "Dawn Patrol." This event involves two balloons that are lit from the inside that ascend before the sunrise. They check the landing sights and wind conditions for the rest of the balloons. The most famous event is by far the Mass Ascension. This is when all of the balloons are released at the same time, creating a rainbow effect about the New Mexican fields. These are where, in my opinion, the most beautiful photos come from :) There are also competitions such as The Fiesta Challenge, a game where balloonists attempt to drop a marker closest to a target. A really moving event is the The Flight of the Nations Mass Ascension, where balloonists from each nation launch, one at a time, to their national anthem and waving their nation's flag. For K-Pop fans here in the United States, KCON is hands down the biggest event of the year. It's not only an opportunity to meet up with fellow fangirls (and fanboys!) and make new friends, but it's pretty much a huge Hallyu party, complete with K-Food vendors, celebrity panelists, and - of course - live performances from some of the hottest idols of the year! With KCON finally branching out and coming to BOTH coasts this year, that means a whole lot of you are probably heading out to KCON for the very first time! As a self-described 'veteran KCON-er' myself, I've decided to throw together a fun survival guide for first-timers complete with some exclusive photos of KCON from past years! Dress Comfortably! When you're at the convention, you're going to be doing a whole lot of walking around. Make sure that you're not only staying hydrated (keep some cash handy for water), but you're wearing comfortable shoes and have something to hold all of that K-Pop swag you're going to end up collecting throughout the day. (There's a LOT of cool giveaways, which means a LOT of stuff to be lugging around!) Get Ready To Dance All Day! KCON is full of plenty of opportunities to get your K-Pop dance on. Not only can you join in on a flash mob, but there are also special events throughout the convention where fans can teach and learn the choreography to all their favorite K-Pop songs! Be Prepared For Some Epic Cosplay! Cosplay isn't just for anime conventions anymore! KCON is PACKED with people dressed up as their favorite idols and music video concepts. In past years, I've seen fans arrive dressed as anyone from 'Bar Bar Bar'-era Crayon Pop to 'Doom Dada' T.O.P himself! Ask The Panelists Questions Some Crazy Questions! The celebrity panels are one of my favorite parts of KCON, and it's because you get the chance to play interviewer and ask people whatever they want! In fact, here are some things I found out just by getting to ask different KCON panelists weird questions: John Major, the songwriter behind EXO's 'Growl', has a pretty surprising favorite K-Pop song: 'Turn It Up' by T.O.P of BIGBANG. Lydia Paek might help choreograph and compose some of YG Entertainment's hottest singles, but she's also a licensed pharmacist. When Josh (AKA YouTube celebrity The Korean Englishman) sings karaoke with his friends, his go-to track is 'Supermagic' by Supreme Team. When you get to KCON, review the program, pick out panelists you'd be interested in meeting, and think about what weird questions you'd like them to answer. It's a lot of fun! Impress Your KCON Bias With Your Korean Skills! Fan meetings are probably the most exciting part for many of the fans attending KCON. Depending on what type of ticket you buy, you can get a chance to meet your favorite idols - you might even score yourself a hi-touch or autograph! If you're selected to attend a fan meeting, make sure to get there early, and in the meantime, practice what you're going to say when you finally get to meet them! Attend The 'Danny From LA' Live Taping! Danny Im from MNET's 'Danny From LA' shoots a special KCON episode every year on the main outdoor stage, which means that even if you don't gain entrance to your favorite group's fan meeting, you can be in the audience for their on-stage interview! 'Danny From LA' loves bringing fans on stage to meet their favorite idols or participate in some sort of game, so who knows? Maybe you'll even get to be on TV! Show Up Early To The Pre-Show Red Carpet! A couple hours before the concert starts, select fans will be able to attend the pre-show red carpet event, where all of the artists on the evening's line-up will come out to be interviewed by the media, greet the fans, and pose for the cameras - including yours! If you're selected, make sure to get there as early as possible so you get a good view. (Shout-outs to the guy in the red hat here that kept blocking mine!) Go Crazy At The Concert! Once you get to the part we've ALL been waiting for, make sure to scream as loud and as often as you possibly can. All KCON attendees are usually given some sort of lightstick, so make sure to shake it back and forth to support all of your favorites. And DANCE! Dance by yourself, dance with your friends, heck - dance with some strangers! Being at a K-Pop show means being surrounded by people that are just as obsessed as you are. Last week, more than 65,000 people came to Burning Man 2014 from all over the world to "dance, express themselves, and take in the spectacle." I have never been interested in going, but I am always fascinated by the stories that come out of this festival.

Why Are These Kids At A Rave?

The 1990s were a simpler time - at least in the realm of kid birthday parties. You went out for laser tag or group-watched a movie. You had slumber parties or rented the 'party room' at your local roller rink. However, sometime between then and now, Skrillex happened - which brings us to the latest trend in children's birthday parties - KIDDIE RAVES. Introducing CirKiz - it's like that neon EDM-packed post-apocalypse you used to go to in college. But with safer goodie bags. You got your wildin' out, glowstick-wielding white bros. Guy with a cool haircut working the 1's and 2's. The person who's been going hard on fruit punch all night. And the one in the corner, currently regretting the fruit punch. CirKiz was created by some NYC-based, EDM-loving parents - Jesse Sprague and Jenny Song - who wanted to create a special place "where families can listen and dance to DJs, see live performances, and experience a nightclub environment in a safe, controlled daytime setting." Available in both New York and London, parents can choose one of several popular warehouse venues and trendy nightclubs for their CirKiz-sponsored event. One such venue, I was surprised to learn, is Cielo, a New York spot known for hosting some pretty 'high-brow' house and trance DJs. In fact, that's exactly where Jesse and Jenny first came up with their Cirkiz idea: "We had [our son's] 1st birthday party at Cielo. We invited friends with kids and friends without. It was so much fun for everyone we decided to make it an annual event but in different clubs. The message we got from all our friends was clear and consistent: 'You should do this professionally and turn it into a business... I'd pay to go.' So after years of just doing it for fun, we finally got our act together and did exactly that." Currently, CirKiz is hosting a 'winter series' of raves at NYC's Space Ibiza on Sundays, where ticket prices range from $15 - 20 per person.
