Title: Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia)
Japanese Title: 僕のヒーローアカデミア
Episodes: 13
Airs: Apr 3, 2016 to Jun 26, 2016
Broadcast: Sunday at 17:00 (JST)

The appearance of "quirks," newly discovered super powers, has been steadily increasing over the years, with 80 percent of humanity possessing various abilities from manipulation of elements to shapeshifting. This leaves the remainder of the world completely powerless, and Izuku Midoriya(2nd picture) is one such individual. Since he was a child, the ambitious middle schooler has wanted nothing more than to be a hero. Izuku's unfair fate leaves him admiring heroes and taking notes on them whenever he can. But it seems that his persistence has borne some fruit: Izuku meets the number one hero and his personal idol, All Might(3rd picture). All Might's quirk is a unique ability that can be inherited, and he has chosen Izuku to be his successor! Enduring many months of grueling training, Izuku enrolls in UA High, a prestigious high school famous for its excellent hero training program, and this year's freshmen look especially promising. With his bizarre but talented classmates and the looming threat of a villainous organization, Izuku will soon learn what it really means to be a hero.

My thoughts:

Before watching:
It goes without saying that the manga of an anime adaptation is usually better. And with most cases, it is understandable since it would be a crazy task to put all the content from a manga into the anime without having being a jumbled mess. So I was excited but scared when the manga that I love got an anime adaptation. My fear was that the content of the manga won't translate well into the anime or there won't be the same feeling that comes from the manga in the anime.
But trust me, when I say my fears were disproved, just by episode one!!!
The Story:
As I mention in the before watching, the first episode of the anime disproved by fears of an incoherent story line. The first two episode follow down the line of the first chapter which is the "Origin Story" of Izuku Midoriya. The origin story talks about the beginning to Izuku's journey. I don't want to spoil much since this is really all of episode 1 and 2, so here is a few details without giving away big information. Izuku from a very young age was a hero type kid, the first scene opens up with him defending another kid from a couple of bullies(Episode 1). However, you quickly find out that Izuku is out matched by the bullies. This defeat doesn't stop Izuku's goal of becoming a hero, in any way. In the origin, you can see that he was born with the will to be a hero, even though the world around him say no. This will is even so strong that it will make Izuku do actions that he didn't fully understand (Episode 2).
Now, this classic hero story has it's difference from other hero stories. This is probably because the world that the story is placed in has lot of superheros. So it isn't uncommon to want to be a hero, however the reason for being a hero has greatly vary in this world and you will see that in the first episode. I believe that is one of the things that I like about the anime, is that they show the true self-purpose of the current heroes and those that want to be heroes. There is so much that I am probably not saying about the story but I feel it needs to be experience by oneself to truly understand it.
The anime did a great job at keep the content and time space in perfect harmony. As I mention in the story section, the first two episodes contain all the content from chapter one in the manga. I am not sure if this was done since in chapter one, each scene has a very important effect that lead to Izuku's story development, but whatever the reason is, I think it was a great move. Now the viewers are able to get a full sense of how it began with all the puzzles set in place. Which is very important since that what this anime builds off on, small causes that leads to bigger effects (negative and positive). Which makes it a great story in my opinion.
The only thing that concerns me, is that we are only getting 13 episodes. I understand that this is probably because the manga is still going and there will probably be more seasons later (PLEASE!!!). But I just don't want so much chapters to be pushed together for the sake of getting further through the story. It doesn't seem like that is gonna happen and it seems that Boku no Hero Academia will end up join the rankings of Fairy Tail, One Piece, HunterxHunter, Naruto and etc. And that will make me one happy girl!!
Opening and Ending Scene:
I enjoy both scenes. I think the music is great for the anime and the scenes itself. I am unsure what to say about them. Both scene have simply but powerful images that lines with the story. I think this really allows you to get into the music that is played during the opening and ending which is music you would expect for a hero/action anime (Upbeat and motivating). And as always, the opening show you the main characters of the anime which gives us all something to look forward to!
I am already in so deep into this anime!! I already sold part of my soul to the manga, and now the other half has to got to the anime. I will totally keep watching and I encourage you to do the same (if you haven't yet). I have great hope for the anime and I can't wait for it to get big!
