Today, I am filled with such a deep mix of emotions.
Today is the last game Kobe Bryant will ever play in the NBA.
I was never a Lakers fan, but I never passed on a chance to watch Kobe play. Kobe represents the best of the old ways and the new in basketball. His relentless work ethic and passion for the game is unmatched. His will to win was probably deeper than any player I have ever seen.
For these reasons, it's hard to let him go. You knew every night Kobe was going to give you his all. Sadly, his body has just seen too many miles. Close to 20 years in the league, thousands of minutes... it only makes sense that he is tired.
I hate to see him leave, but I'm happy and honored to have witnessed one of the greatest ever.
