The official Japanese YouTube channel for Ghost in the Shell has started streaming the first eight minutes from Ghost Pain, which is set to be the first instalment of the Ghost in the Shell Arise series. The video is available to be viewed in 480p with English and Chinese subtitles, but there is a 1080p version available on the official PlayStation channel but has no subtitles. The Ghost in the Shell Arise project will see it's first of four 50-minute parts have a Japanese theatrical premiere on June 22nd 2013 and then will see a Blu-ray and DVD release come July 26th 2013. The project is directed by Kazuchika Kise at Production I.G, with Tow Ubukata supervising and writing the scripts. The anime's musical score is being handled by Cornelius. The anime will be set in 2027, one year after the fourth non-nuclear war ended. Newport City a city still trying to recover from the aftermath it endured is hit by bombing caused by a self-propelled mine and military officer involved in arms-dealing is gunned down. An investigation is launched in which Public Security Section 9's Daisuke Aramaki meets Motoko Kusanagi, a hacker assigned to the military Secret Unit 501 who is suspected of being behind the bombing. The series is currently set to star Maaya Sakamoto and Mokot Kusanagi, Kenichirou Matsuda as Batou, Tarusuke Shingaki as Togusa, Tokoyuki Dan as Ishikawa, Takurou Nakakuni as Saito, Youji Ueda as Paz, Kazuya Nakai as Borma, Ikkyuu Juju as Daisuke Aramaki, Mayumi Asano as Kurutsu, and Takanori Hoshino as Raizo.
