Due to a mysterious talisman, Kim Bung-do time travels to 2012, where he crosses paths with Choi Hee-jin and falls in love.
EPISODES: 16 (2012)
Choi Hee-jin (Yoo In-na) For once my favorite character was the female lead herself. Yoo In-na is an amazing actress, she gave me heartbreak and made it feel so real. She portrayed her character well. Choi Hee-jin is an unsuccessful actress until she lands a roll as Queen In Hyun... She is a clueless, not intelligent and funny girl. She falls instantly for Kim Bung-do and is brave enough to lay a kiss on him not to long after she meets him. She kills me whenever she cries because it feels as if her sadness pierces you.
Kim Bung-do (Ji Hyun-woo) This guy right here is a perfect match for Hee-jin. He is so sweet, smart, tall, manly and very handsome. He is very smart and says he can probably learn English in about a month and be more fluent than Hee-jin even though she's been studying it for years. He will do anything for his loved ones, he's caring and loyal. He made me cry so much throughout this show, because of his tears and the ones Hee-jin shed for him. He has hidden dimples that you can only see when he smiles. Also he's an extremely good kisser. >_<
I loved the storyline. I'm not big on historical dramas. I've only ever seen "Rooftop Prince" and this. But this one sucked me in from the beginning with the confusion and curiosity. It is a time travel, romance drama full of intense fight scenes and sad yet dramatic scenes. It will make you sad then happy. This gives someone with no interest in historical dramas want to watch because it's not all about that, but also shows some of the show in the present. I like that the show ties the main leads to a talisman and that gives the story something to bounce off of. And in the end they don't need the talisman but each other, one phone call set it all off.
Reunion Theatre Kiss! This is the final kiss from the show, it happens in episode 16 and it is so passionate. Hee-jin is full of sadness after finally remembering Bung-do and calls him but no response. She goes into a theatre and is watching a documentary she narrated for that talks about Bung-do. As she sobs in the dark, Bung-do walks in and she doesn't believe he's actually there. Then she touches his face and a tear rolls down. Then he said he forgot the purpose of a tie and she pulls his tie and he leans in and kisses her. It's so adorable. My 2nd favorite kiss is the "Sunflower Hotel Kiss", it is also really cute because it's their first real kiss.
Kim Bung-do and Choi Hee-jin There was an enormous amount of chemistry between these two. The passion and true love was so real. I loved them paired up together, like they were actually meant for one another. I couldn't contain the happiness I had for them whenever they would come back together. Especially at the end. I ship them so hard. They are so cute, they probably know they are cute.
The scene that got me the most was when Hee-jin was crying after a car accident because she thought that Bung-do had died because it was written in the Annal that he was shot with arrows and died instantly. Her friend / manager thought she was crying because she was hurt but she wasn't, it was because the love of her life was "dead". I felt my tears streaming down my face at this scene, it's so heartbreaking. And she did an amazing job acting this out.
Same Sky, Different Time by Joo Hee of 8Eight This song tugs at your heart and makes your tears flow naturally. The singers voice is beautiful and makes me sad.
I absolutely loved this drama, the plotline never fell short and always kept my attention. It was intense, dramatic, funny at some moments, and romantic. This drama was amazing and I'm so glad I continued watching and actually finished it. I loved everything about it. The actors, characters, story and chemistry. The soundtrack was really good and interesting. Hee-Jin's manager was really funny and her Ex-boyfriend is persistent. They were a lot of likable characters in this drama. There was a good amount of romance and the kiss scenes were perfect and definitely at the top of my list. I love shows that make me cry and this was one that made me cry for sure. It broke my heart but then pieced it back together in the last episode.
9.5/10 - It will be a memorable drama for me. If you like time-travel, historical, romance dramas. Please watch this one, it won't disappoint!
Have you watched "Queen In Hyun's Man", did you like it?
