You might have come across some of these desserts, and that's because some of these desserts are shared in different Latin American countries, especially those in the Caribbean. These are 5 desserts that very popular in Cuba.

1 - Tres Leches

The English translation to this dessert is "three milks." Hands down, this is one of my favorite Latin/Cuban dessert. It's the softest and tastiest cake your mouth will ever taste. It's made with condensed milk and evaporated milk. Don't believe how wonderful this cake is? Read my love letter to it.

2 - Flan

If you like cheesecake, you'll definitely like flan. They are sort of similar. Flan will usually have a caramel sauce that's added to the bottom and/or top of this dessert. Also, if you like chocolate, you should check out this Mexican chocolate flan recipe.

3 - Arroz con Leche

This is a rice pudding that's sooooo good! This is made with rice (of course), evaporated milk, and condensed milk. I know this I see this dessert often especially during the holidays!

4 - Bu帽uelos

I am sure many of you have heard of these! They are a bit different in Latin country or even region. In Cuba, they are golden-fried and made with yuca. Mmm, yuca! They are also served with a syrup.

5 - Pastelitos de Guayaba

These are flaky-type pastries filled with guava goodness. If you want to stare at pastelitos de guayaba food porn, you're in luck. There's a card about it. Oh, and they have cheese in them too! Enjoy.
I love all of these! I wonder if there are some original cuban sweets that aren't made anywhere else.

I've had flan and let me tell you--can't do it. It's up there with durian. Not because of the aroma, but because of the dastardly texture. Sorry, I will gladly chow down on the other deliciousness.
Oh, yum! Bu帽uelos are delicious and they are actually one of my favorites.
