A very nice TED talk by Daphne Bavelier, a brain and cognitive science professor from MIT, about how video game affect people's brain. In summary, the common perception that video games reduce an individual attention span and create distraction within children's brain development are not only invalid through her research, but it actually increases an individual's ability to multitask, improve cognitive capacity, and speed up patients' rehab.
Oh wow, I just watched the whole video and I like how she evades answering the good-or-bad-question and only relies on scientific evidence! I especially like the broccoli-chocolate-experiment haha
I think the issue is not the games themselves but the communities that then to evolve around these games. These games tend to reveal the worst characteristics in someone's personality.
