Why are you here and not somewhere else
This is a contemporary art piece by Danish artist Jeppe Hein, on the wall of the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. The picture doesn't quite capture the feeling of contemplation I had when I first encountered it, but it's still a good question. ...but I wonder why the artist didn't put a question mark at the end?

hm perhaps because it's rather rhetorical, and i don't think the artist want you to spend time thinking about why you are here and not somewhere else, but rather he wants you to acknowledge the fact that you are here, in the now, and is reminding you to take full advantage of being in the moment, being in this place in your life. i think he just wants you to realize this and take action rather than be pensive about it oops sorry about the ranting

@oj1992 haha good idea, but there was plenty of space on the wall.
