Soft as fog's breath, a canary floats above
Through a sky soaked with tears of a lone flight
Her hum; so fine, so sweet, yearning for love,
But onward in the night she flies 'til light.
There lies a nest in the west; a new hope,
For distance and time need not on her side
A familiar yellow beak peaks in scope,
But desire is not glue for gaps so wide
Comfort's steel molds an unforgiving stay
Echoing perfect harmonies of hums;
But 'long stay, the canary knows she'll pay
When that icy metal chamber close comes
Unchained and free; beauty longs to be
Comfort gives the key, for he cares for thee
