Park Ji Sang (Ahn Jae Hyun) is the son of a vampire, who becomes inherited with the same abilities and desire for blood. Though he was initially terrified of his identity as a teenager, Ji Sang grows up embracing that side of him and becomes a surgeon. His hunger and crave for blood is suppressed with a special pill he takes before he goes in for an operation, otherwise, he would quickly transform when he encounters blood.
He later gets a job at a hospital and becomes the team manager for the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery team. On his very first day, Ji Sang meets Yoo Ri Ta (Goo Hye Sun), a Doctor who is arrogant of her academic achievements. Due to his age in comparison to the others, some of the Doctors are reluctant to have a 'kid' as a team manager, but Ji Sung quickly gains their trust when he was given permission by Ri Ta's own uncle to take over her in the middle of an operation. His success only leads to her envy, and the two's rivalry quickly ignites as a result, all while Ji Sang starts to uncover secrets about his family.
EPISODES: 20 (2015)
Park Ji Sang (Ahn Jae Hyun)
First off Park Ji Sang is a vampire also known as an "Infected" in this drama. He is the only pure infected meaning, he was born by two people who were infected. He is not easily killed as we find out that he gets shot by with the same shot that killed both of his parents but just made him stronger instead. He is warm hearted yet very cold on the outside. He shows warmth in his eyes when he looks at Ri Ta and it's so sweet. That it melts my heart to bits. He is very hot and so adorable at the same time. Ahn Jae Hyun fits the vampire role so well, it's amazing. I can't imagine anyone to fit the role better. His character is super funny and I didn't think he would be funny but he was. He is quite sensitive and will make you cry.
FAVORITE AND FUNNIEST SCENE:
I died of laughter from this scene, I love how Ji Sang is trying to take her seriously but he keeps reacting funny. He spits out his drink and smiles when she says kiss. I just love how the music played when she got serious and he kept disrupting and the music stopped.
I also really love the scene between Hyun Woo and Ji Sang in the kitchen when their eating and Hyun Woo brings up that Ri Ta is really pretty and Luuvy the robot plays a clip of Ri Ta and a song plays. Ji Sang then throws a piece of lettuce at Hyun Woo and Luuvy says, "You shouldn't waste food." Then Ji Sang throws lettuce at Luuvy too. It's too funny.
Next Part of this card is a SPOILER, so skip it if you don't want to see it!!! >_<
SADDEST SCENE: SPOILER ALERT!!!!
Hyun Woo's Death!
This scene was so tragic and I didn't see it coming. I had so much heartache from this scene. These pair of best friends are the best I've seen in a while, it made me so happy. I felt that Ji Sang lost his brother when he saw him dead on the ground. Those tears that streamed down his face was contagious and hit me. Hyun Woo found love at first sight but lost it which is also very sad. Ji Sang lost someone dear to him, someone who is like a brother to him. WAEEE????!!!
LEE JAE WOOK: VILLAIN
So, we find out who the villain is right away but we don't know that their is someone lurking in secret for him in the hospital until later in the drama. I was shocked when I found out who this person was. But the main Villain Jae Wook is very sneaky and tries his hardest to turn Ji Sang into one of his puppets but never does. He gets what he deserves in the end which made me extremely happy but a lot of his sheep die with him who don't deserve what happen to them.
I would say it has an interesting plot for sure. I like the different idea of a vampire who is supposed to want blood but instead saves lives and rejects to drink blood. He wants to be human but can't, it's impossible. He becomes a doctor and meets another doctor named Ri Ta who he has a past with but doesn't know it yet. Until she tells her story of being saved in the woods by a boy, he saves her from wild dogs and he puts the pieces together and realizes she's the girl he saved. I like the whole Vampire/ Doctor romance storyline involved in all of it. The side characters and main characters are all interesting. I loved most of the acting. Especially Goo Hye Sun, she did amazing and has improved since BOF.
Park Ji Sang (Ahn Jae Hyun) and Yoo Ri Ta (Goo Hye Sun)
I loved this couple a lot and shipped it. If you ship it, then your ship will come true and this one did in real life. They started dating after "Blood" finished airing which is really cute. I love how loving Ji Sang looks at Ri Ta, it's so adorable. They only had one kiss scene which is rather upsetting but it was cute and the scene is said to have taken 3 hours to shoot. They have their cute moments which make you squeal.
Only One by Tiffany
So, this drama didn't have the best Soundtrack which is upsetting because I solely base my view on a show on the music and if it doesn't have a great soundtrack, it won't be that enjoyable to watch. But this song is probably my favorite from the whole show. It has a soft melody and beautiful sound.
Although this show did have quite a few flaws, it did have it's strengths too. It has a good plot and great characters that make you cry. The graphics and aesthetics of it all are amazing and I applaud this drama for that because some dramas do a really crappy job with that. They chose a great actor to be the villain, he did amazing. There were a lot of sad deaths. Now for the flaws, the songs were kind of weak. There could've been more romance but I don't expect much for an action, supernatural drama. The ending made it seem as though Ji Sang dies because it shows him on the rooftop in Ri Ta's arms during a sunrise dying and then we assume he's dead but at the very last scene we see him save Ri Ta in Kochenia by vampires. He grabs her hand but doesn't say anything. This leaves the drama for us with an open ending meaning we can come up and believe how we want the show to end. Is that really Ji Sang who saved her? Did he live? Is that a twin or doppelganger? We can believe what we want to believe happened. I kind of like that because I believe he lived somehow in hiding and he found Ri Ta there in Kochenia. It has a happy ending for the main leads but not for some of the side characters, sadly. It was an enjoyable drama for the most part. I liked it but it's not my favorite.
7.5/10 - It was enjoyable at some moments. It has intense fight scenes, supernatural, drama, romance and some comedy in there. I recommend it if you want a show just to watch, it's not one of my favorites by Ahn Jae Hyun is worth the watch.
Have you watched "Blood", and did you like it?
