The professional ballerina is being honored with her very own Barbie doll, which was revealed on ABC's Good Morning America. In 2015, Copeland made history when she became the first African-American woman to be named principal dancer at the renowned American Ballet Theatre.
Copeland has crossed a lot of boundaries in her ballet career and wanted her Barbie Doll to reflect what her career has: change in places people thought change wasn't possible. "I was hands on with making sure that she really looked like a dancer and looked like me," Copeland said on Good Morning America. "She has muscles and calves and thighs and a bust, and those are important to me."
You can buy the Misty doll at thebarbiecollection.com for $29.95, and it will roll out to stores across the country soon.
