For many diehard Harry Potter fans, today is an unforgettable today in the history of the classic series.
Today marks the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts. Every year, author J.K. Rowling goes on record to apologize for killing one of the main characters in the series.
Today, Rowling has apologized for the death of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Remus Lupin.
"In the interests of total honesty I'd also like to confess that I didn't decide to kill Lupin until I wrote Order if the Phoenix, " said Rowling on twitter. "Once again, it's the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts so, as promised, I shall apologise for a death. This year: Remus Lupin."
Rowling explained that since Ron’s father Arthur survived, Remus Lupin was the character who ultimately kept the body count in check.
