Dallas Cowboys Defense Switching from 3-4 to 4-3 Under DC Kiffin
The Cowboys have switched defensive philosophies from a 3-4 to a 4-3 with the hiring of defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin. Kiffin has always been about keeping the opponent's scoring as low as possible as his teams have been consistently in the top 10 in points allowed despite not ranking highly in yardage allowed. Kiffin's defense follows the bend but don't break philosophy and focuses on forcing turnovers. You can bet on the Cowboys defense being much more aggressive towards the ball this year.
Demarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer will now both play ends in the new system and both will look to continue their sack numbers from last season. The transition may be a rocky one, and opposing teams will definitely look to run on the Cowboys light defensive line with only Jason Hatcher over 300 pounds.
So definitely start your RBs when they are playing the Cowboys. We shall see if the switch in defense will help them this year, but I wouldn't bet against Kiffin with his successful track record.
