Baltimore Ravens Running Back Bernard Pierce Adds 10 Pounds and Speed
Ravens running back Bernard Pierce is driven to improve upon last years impressive rookie run. He has gained 10 pounds of muscle but has also worked hard on his speed so that he can finish off long runs. Last year Pierce ran downhill and gave defenses fits with his combination of speed and power.
This year he could be in line for a few more touches per game although he will still be second fiddle to Ray Rice. If Ray Rice ever gets injured, watch out for a break out year in Pierce. Watch his highlights from last year. The man can run. With some added speed, he will be able to more consistently score TDs once he breaks into the open field.
I would draft Pierce in the later rounds, before the likes of other back-up running backs such as Bryce Brown.
