The only political party in Egypt who have a positive favorability rating (53%) is the Muslim Brotherhood and President Morsi---both recently removed from power. Only 39% of Egyptians said that Egypt was better off without longtime dictator Hosni Mubarak. Who can fill this power vacuum?

This is the classic dilemma of a country that has been freed from oppression. Not being able to form a well organised government, new military forces will take over the power vacuum. No one seems to think about the consequences of relieving a country of its existing government. It might come down to "any government is better than no government"
I agree with your last part, you should check out the card I just put up linking to the FA article "even a good coup is bad"
