Derrick Rose Injury Update
Regarding Derrick Rose's imminent return to practice, coach Tom Thibodeau said that Rose is VERY close to "full-contact" practice with the rest of the team. Rose tore his ACL against the Philadelphia 76ers in last year's Eastern Conference playoffs. The Bulls finished with the conference's best regular-season record, but unable to cope with Rose's injury, they were subsequently eliminated in the first round. After performing the surgery on May 12, Dr. Brian Cole prescribed an eight-to-12-month recovery period for the former NBA MVP, according to ESPN. He's been traveling with the team and participating in one-on-one drills, but going full contact would be a massive step forward in his recovery. Should Rose return to action soon, it would fall on the very early end of his recovery spectrum. But the eye-popping year of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who returned from a similar injury, has rewritten the book on plausible recovery time. It wouldn't be unheard of to see Rose back so soon.

That realization doesn't necessarily make the shot any better, but for some reason, it still seems amazing.

The Crying Micheal Jordan Meme was by far one of the best things to come out of 2015. Social media kingpins relentlessly attack famous people across the globe at their weakest moments with a crying MJ meme centered around their latest blunder. It's pretty low, but I must say, it's pretty damn funny. "It just seems to have an appropriateness for so many different circumstances," said Andrew Selepak, director of the social media graduate program at the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications. "That face can be used for a meme for a number of different levels, whether it's sports or non-sports related. But because of the passion people have for sports, I think it has legs like few other memes that have been popular in the past." It's had an amazing amount of staying power, and like most things that have this type of power, often comes dollars. So when money gets involved, who owns the rights to this? Could a person be sued over the Crying meme? The Associated Press could pursue legal action if it believes its copyright of the image has been violated. "We own the rights in our photo, which was taken in 2009," Associated Press spokesman Paul Colford wrote in an email to ESPN.com. "We could enforce those rights depending on the use and other factors, as is the case with all AP photos." Likewise, Jordan spokesperson Estee Portnoy recently implied that the basketball icon's camp is keeping a close eye on usage of the meme. "We haven't seen anyone using it to promote their commercial interests, which is something that we're monitoring," Portnoy wrote in an email to the Chicago Tribune. So be careful about letting loose a signature Crying Micheal Jordan meme, it could cost you some dollars down the line.

Micro-movie on the craziest game of the 2013 NBA Finals. They were ready to bring out the trophy near the end, but it ain't over till it's over. Game 7 for the NBA championship tomorrow. Recap for those who don't follow basketball: The San Antonio Spurs is probably the most under-appreciated team in the NBA. They get very little media attention even though they are one of the best teams every year, because their stars (Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli) are very humble and avoid the media. The Miami Heat is the most hated team in the NBA. They have 3 stars in Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. They decided to join forces and held an infamous event in Miami telling their fans they would win "not 2... not 3... not 4..... " championships that quickly got other teams' fan bases riled up. There are more fans who wish for the Heat to lose than the Spurs to win. We'll see tomorrow who hoists the Larry O'Brien trophy in the end!

Meet my brand new soulmate. I'm not really sure what her name is, but I do know that when she was in the always uncomfortable crosshairs of an NBA game's Kiss Cam, she represented all of us. How? Let's Discuss...Who's the Better PG- Westbrook or Rose?
With the improved play of Russell Westbrook this season, and Derrick Rose still out with the ACL injury, who would you rather have on your team? Westbrook or Rose? Who's the better PG? Here are some stats... 2011-2012 Season: Rose: 21.8 Ppg, 7.9 Ast, 3.4 Reb Westbrook: 23.6 Ppg, 5.5 Ast, 4.6 Reb Statistically, the two are evenly matched. However, considering Rose missed 27 games due to injuries and Westbrook started for the entire season, I'd say Westbrook is more durable, and thus more reliable. However, I do believe Rose makes his teammates much better, and therefore elevates the level of the team's performance. Rose does not have superstars on his team, except for Boozer (washed up) and budding stars (Noah, Deng), who have hit their potential ceilings. On the other hand, Westbrook has Durant, who can single-handedly take over games, and take the pressure off Westbrook. Overall, I give my vote to Westbrook, just because he seems more durable in the long run. Love it, hate it, regardless of your opinion, share your thoughts!
