This week I decided to do a newer show and an older one. If there is a type you'd like covered let me know... I don't have any recommendations for yaoi/ shonen-ai, I just haven't found a series that interested me enough to watch. But what I do have is...
Dance with Devils demons, romance, supernatural, harem, shoujo, musical Ritsuka Tachibana has always been a good student, so she is completely shocked when she is suddenly summoned by the student council. Even more, they seem to think of Ritsuka as a troublemaker. Led by the handsome Rem Kaginuki, the student council—also consisting of Urie Sogami, Shiki Natsumizaka and Mage Nanashiro—tries to question her, but it soon becomes clear that they have ulterior motives. However, this is only the beginning. When her mother gets kidnapped, her life is turned upside down, and Ritsuka gets drawn into a world of vampires and devils. Both groups are searching for the "Grimoire," a forbidden item allowing its owner to rule the world. The return of her brother Lindo from overseas gives her hope, but even he appears to be hiding something. In a world filled with secrets, Ritsuka questions whom she can trust in this dark musical tale, while the handsome and dangerous members of the student council compete for her attention. I watched the first episode, wondering if it was even a series I was going to watch, but when they started singing I decided that it was worth watching just for that. It does have a fairly predictable plot but it was good enough that I wanted to take a few days watching it.
Dance in the Vampire Bund Supernatural, vampire, Dance in the Vampire Bund takes place in a world where vampires have recently come out of hiding, making their existence public knowledge to the world. Princess Mina Tepes, current ruler of all vampires, has used her family’s vast wealth to completely pay off the national debt of the Japanese government. In exchange, the government allowed her to build a special district called The Bund on a man-made island off of the coast of Tokyo, allowing the vampires of the world to finally have a place that they can call home. Knowing not all humans would be keen about the revelation that vampires are real, the Bund is connected to the mainland only by a single underground tunnel. No bridges exist above ground and the Bund has no ports. Despite these attempts at limited isolationism, tensions begin to run high between human and vampire civilizations. Some humans wish to destroy all vampires as monsters and attack the Bund. At the same time, vampire extremists who want superiority over humans instead of equality with them attempt to sabotage Mina’s plans for peace. Vampires are not the only supernatural creatures to be revealed to the world. Werewolves also exist and the werewolf guards, known as Beowulfs, serve as Mina’s bodyguards. With rookie Beowulf Akira Kaburagi Regendorf by her side, Mina works to maintain and build the peace between humanity and the supernatural. Can a common understanding and bond be shared between such different species when even peace between one race is nearly impossible? I really enjoyed this series even though there were some things that are not typical in vampire lore ( Lycans & Vamps are mortal enemies) and the ruler of the vampires is a loli, but I have rewatched it a couple times. The plot, pacing and characters are solid and don't drag. Also Mina x Akira are a great ship.
Next week will have at least 1 Harem/Ecchi... You have been warned.
