Attention, horror aficionados!
One Tokyo-based cafe wants to know: Would you care for some maggots in your milkshake this week?
For one week only, a Shibiya-based cafe will make over its menu in a gruesome way - with desserts inspired by the 'erotic and grotesque' classic horror manga artist Suehiro Maruo.
The desserts are all meant to match characters from Suehiro's classic manga, Shojo Tsubaki - who all seem pretty terrifying.
The quirky polka dots of Midori-chan's hairbow pop up on their fluffy Midori-chan cake. Seems tame enough, right?
Then there's Kanabun's dessert, the centerpiece panna cotta - a custard eyeball sitting in a bowl of fruit compote 'blood'.
And then there's my personal favorite: Muchisute's Maggot Float - a soda float topped with realistic gummy maggots.
The event will run from May 24 - 31st in celebration of the release of the manga's live-action feature film.
Maybe MOST of us aren't able to get to Tokyo in time, but because this concept fascinates me, I've got to know:
Which of these desserts would YOU dare to order?
(Personally, I'm a big fan of that panna cotta eyeball. That's my kind of gross.)
