I've put up a few cards about Russia recently, and I spent two weeks traveling throughout the country this winter, so I figured a book recommendation was appropriate. I've read a fair bit about Russia today, but Mr. Putin by Fiona Hill and Clifford Gaddy is the best look at the far reaching power held by President Putin that I have come across. I think the book gives a great overview of the President's governing style and the country he has firm control over. It can be a bit dry at times, so if you're looking for something more entertaining, "The Man Without A Face" might be a better choice.
