Photographer Adrienne Elliot "I created this composite image a few months ago, and intended to post it when I started a photography blog. Due to several ongoing commitments the blog will be a future endeavor, but I thought why not go ahead and share something different today. In the future I hope to include this image in a blog discussion about photography and Photoshop. I joined 500px to find inspiration through the work of other members and sharpen my photography skills, but I also love the creative outlet that Photoshop provides in combining various images. My main focus on 500px will continue to be photography, but I will add a few composites now and then just for fun. I shot this heron against an overcast but bright sky, as it landed on the tree branches that you see below. Due to the lighting conditions and lack of scenery, the original image was most certainly not 500px worthy. However, I have always loved creating silhouette composites in Photoshop, and this heron capture was a perfect candidate! The clouds used in this composite are from a photograph that I took outside my back window, and the branches around the outer edge were applied with a Photoshop brush. The moon is a digital design, and a textured paper layer was used to create the starry sky effect."
