Kendall Jenner was spotted wearing a black lace bralette over a white crop top yesterday. Fashion magazines such as Vogue and Glamour are praising this styling trick as sexy, smart and creative. Vogue did not outright tell everyone to adapt this style but they say this is an upgrade to a classic white tee. Glamour on the other hand, told their readers to try this style for summer. As I was reading I was murmuring "really?." Do you think regular (non-celebrity) people walking out like that would be okay? I'm sure we'll get an eye-rolled for wearing our lingerie out in public like that.
I remember seeing similar layering method while watching Clueless during the 90s. The main character from clueless pictured on the left wore a cropped black cami over a classic crew neck tee in white. I thought it didn't look flattering. It reminded me of a sushi.
I think if it was paired like this blogger, it would be okay. At least the proportion here is not weird. A black strapless over a ribbed white top looks more flatter.
Not surprising, this clueless layered tee is making a comeback. A couple of store carrying similar item already sold out online.
Again, I don't know. Maybe it's just me but it's weird to wear bralettes like this. What are your thoughts?
Yeah I'm not a fan of it. I like the way it was done in clueless but not Kendall's.
I like mines under not over lol
@petname83 To think of it does look chunky. I just don't like the wrapped look. But I don't mind wearing it as an under layer piece. I think it's cute when bralettes peeking out from a loose tank.
I'm not big on piecing the bralette on the top of a layer, unless it's another bralette. over the top of a tee looks chunky to me? best word I can think of to describe it. it looks kinda sloppy. I'm down for wearing the bralette as a stand alone or under an open piece.
this style/trend is neither too good be followed nor too bad to avoid. it completely depends where am i opting to wear. In India, its not going to work.
