The four-panel manga series 'The Hired Gun' by writer Masahide Ichijo and artist Chiku has recently been approved for production to start on a anime adaptation. The four-panel comedy manga follows the self-proclaimed best hit man in Japan. Who lives by the mantra, "If I have an assignment, I will kill anything". However, his assignments have started venturing away from killing and now include everything from summer vacation homework to housekeeping. The anime shorts are to be directed by Ai Ikegaya at the Flash animation studio OperaHouse. The manga saw an original release in Futabasha's Manga Action magazine back in 2004, and had its latest volume published back in 2009.
