Japanese NTV's Zip! television program has recently streamed the first lot of exclusive footage from the live-action film adaptation of Yana Toboso's Black Butler manga series. Along with this Zip! also revealed that the film is set to premiere come January 18th 2014. The original manga is set in 19th century England, however the new film is to be set around 130 years later in the year 2020, in an Asian city where Western and Asian cultures intermingle. Since only males are able to take the reins of the Phantomhive family, Shiori takes to wearing male clothes and changes her name to lead the Phantom Corporation. This is to be the first time Genpo plays the role of a girl assuming a male disguise. Sebastian Michaelis, played by Mizushima is a demonic butler with vast knowledge, manners, grace and numerous essential skills. Similarly to Ciel in the original manga, Shiori, has a seal on her right eye to symbolise her contract with Sebastian, who watches over and protects her. However, as part of the contract Sebastian consumes her soul as payment. To complete the cast, Mizuki Yamamoto will be playing maid Lin, Yuka as Shiori's aunt Hanae, and model Louis Kuirhara will be playing the undertaker Jay. The project is being co-directed by Kentaro Otani and Keiichi Satou.
