Good evening! Again sorry this is posting pretty late. My workout took a bit longer than expected. >.>
To continue this series of Korean Skin Care Routine cards we are moving onto the next step in the process:
This will be a shorter card because I have only used 2 types of toners. A little goes a long way with toners ^^
If you missed a step click on the links below:
Step 1: baby
Step 2: don't
Step 3: cry
Step 4: tonight
If you are already tagged I will continue to tag you as these cards are created. If you want to be tagged for future cards please just leave a comment requesting it. Though if you are currently tagged and wish to be removed from the tag list, please let me know.
Feel free to ask me questions about anything but my answers will mostly be experience/opinion based, I AM NOT A DERMATOLOGIST :P
My 언니 @MichalJamerson will also make comments and she is also a great resource :)
Also just an FYI, my skin type is very very sensitive that leans more toward the dry side.
Now let's get started! ヾ(｡･ω･)ｼ
The fourth step in my face cleansing routine is a toner. This step is vital for your daily skin regimen even if you decide to focus on the basics. (opinion :D)
There is a major difference between American and Korean toners. In fact, the word "toner" isn't even really used in Korea to describe this step in the process. The word most commonly used is "softner". While American toners tend to be filled with alcohol and harsh chemicals that are used to help "clean" the skin. All this really does is dry the skin out even more. Korean toners (softners) are used in order to help revitalize the ph levels of your skin and put hydration back where it belongs in a proper balance. Toners (softners) in Korea tend to be heavier than that of an American toner, meaning they aren't watery.
Depending on the type of toner you use determines how you use the toner. (That sounded weird) With the types of toners I have used, both are the types where you don't have to use a cotton swab and wipe your face with it. After i have washed my face I actually have a spritz bottle and spray the toner on my face then pat my face with my hands so the toner can get into my skin. Then I make sure my skin is fully dry before moving onto the next step.
Many Korean toners are like this because double cleansing is really popular. Which double cleansing is using a cleansing oil and then a foaming facial cleanser. So yes, this process I use is a double cleansing method. I suppose I should have mentioned that earlier.. Sorry. :(
The first type of toner I used was the Missha Super Aqua Hydrating Toner. This toner was on the water side but it was incredibly gentle. I really liked this toner and probably would have purchased this toner again but I wanted to try out other products.
This toner didn't help clear up any breakouts that I was having but it did help soften my skin. When using this toner, because it did so well with hydrating my skin, I didn't feel like I needed to use a lotion every time. Granted I did anyway because my skin drys out easily and I figured it was important I did.
If you have sensitive skin I suggest this toner because it is very gentle. It was easy to use as well. This type of toner you could either use with a cotton swab and wipe your face or you could do what I do and spritz it on your face.

The only other toner I have used is the Laneige White Plus Renew Skin Refiner.
This is the toner I am currently using and I really love it. This toner is similar to a gel rather than the more watery one I had used prior. Making it a bit easier to use. I do spritz it on my skin but sometimes I will just put it on my fingers and I will pat it into my skin.
This toner doesn't hydrate my skin as well as the Missha one. I do like how it make my skin look brighter and it helped reduce my acne. It isn't meant to reduce acne so don't purchase this product for that purpose. I just know that this was one of the benefits I got from the product. This product will probably last me forever because I've been using it for probably about 3ish months and I still have majority of the bottle left.
Laneige products are great but not all of them work for my skin. However this toner does well with my skin type and I really like it. I will probably try a different toner once I'm starting to run low in this one, just because I haven't found a toner I'm completely in love with.
If you are intersted in purchasing this product you could possibly get it at your local Target or by clicking here
And that concludes today's card! Sorry it wasn't incredibly long, I just haven't tried a lot of toners. They last forever so you really get your money's worth. Hopefully this info was helpful to you guys!!
Of course, these are my own opinions/experiences with these products. Feel free to ask questions but remember I'm not an expert
Next time: Facial masks!
I will break up the facial mask cards into a few different ones because I have a lot of different masks I have used/tried. This way we don't have a card that would take you forever to read xD
Tag you're it!
