"A steep price to pay for 20 minutes of action"

(Brock's father on his son's jail time sentence)
I'm sure you've all seen the news about Brock Turner, the Stanford student, the talented swimmer, the rapist.
He raped an unconscious girl behind a dumpster on the Stanford campus last week, claiming that he didn't know she was unresponsive or that her back was bleeding from being assaulted on the bare ground. Two students saw the assault taking place and called campus police.

He was tried and found guilty, but his sentencing was nauseating.

Brock was on track to be an Olympic swimmer (maybe...) and the judge of this case, Aaron Persky, didn't want to hurt his chances at gold, his awesome future, all his hard work training, by putting him in jail too long.
So he was only given 6 months (which, in reality will probably only be 3 months in jail) which is, you know, NOTHING.
His father still thinks this is too harsh for his son who raped a woman that was completely unconscious, a woman that didn't even remember what happened when she woke up in the hospital room later that night.

He says the 6 months in jail is "A steep price to pay for 20 minutes of action out of his 20-plus years of life."

It takes less than a second to kill someone with a gun, sir.

Now, you obviously know my stance on this issue, but I'd like to hear yours. All I've heard from friends and family are people that agree that the way mainstream media and especially the judge handled this is disgusting but I'd be interested to hear if anyone is on Brock's side of this....
so let me get this straight.. he had or found a lady on her back behind a dumpster and didn't know she was unconscious? bullcrap! how many people outside of hobos sleep behind dumpsters? none. and as far as his father..he doesn't necessarily care in my opinion, he cares about the money and fame from an Olympic's a shame...she may have had dreams but hey she wasn't going to be an Olympic contestant so it's OK to do this.. call me an ambulance, I'm going to be sick
I think we need to be harder on rapists
honestly this fucking country; it's absolute bullshit; I hope she takes this to higher courts so he gets a harsher sentence. he should get the same amount of jail time as any other rapist and get expelled from school. he needs to pay the real consequences. And his father 馃槖 dont even get me started on his fucking father; any self respecting man would teach his son to treat a lady properly; not to take an unconscious woman on the floor as fair game. I don't care how bright this kid's future is; if you break the law you have to pay the proper consequences; a good father wants what's best for his son, but when you screw up you have to pay the piper and any decent father would relay that his son
I don't want to live on this planet anymore... 馃槕
moreover this sends a message that hey if I'm an athlete I'm above the law which is opposite of what it should be
