It's difficult to find a cute summer dress these days. What I mean is modern dresses are either too short or too revealing. I wonder why designers can't make dresses that are intricate and classy at the same time. It's probably because it's not trendy enough so there is a low demand for those options. Still, it would be nice if there are more variety. For those of you who are tired of seeing the same thing on the rack, this card is for you. In terms of designs, these are the ones that caught my attention this month.
Woodvine Swing Dress | Price: $228 | From Anthropologie
The embroidered hem detail adds an extra oomph to the otherwise typical tank dress. I love that it's a swing silhouette with pretty sky blue cored florals at the bottom. There's nothing to not love about this easy slip-on.
Kimchi Blue Joclyn Smocked Bodice Midi Dress | Price: $79 | From UO
If you have small bust you know the struggle of finding a dress that is form fitting. The stretchy smocked racerback design solves the loose fitting issue. Since it's a midi length it's naturally a comfortable piece for traveling.
Embroidered Indigo Mercado Dress | $79.99 | From Madewell
The contrast of the red embroidery on the indigo blue chambray is what caught my attention in the beginning. Then I look at the overall design and notice the off-shoulder detail. If the dress was shorter it wouldn't be as sophisticated. So, I'm glad they decided to keep the length. A perfect piece for Fourth of July weekend.
Brie Embroidered Shift Dress | Price: $44 | From Francesca's
Little white dress is a summer essential. Sometimes all white might be too formal so looking for white dresses with small contrasting details can tone things down. For instance, black or navy blue embroidery add a southern vibe perfect for summer outings.
@jazziejazz It is! I'm especially drawn to the embroidery design.
