Feel free to ask me questions about anything but my answers will mostly be experience/opinion based, I AM NOT A DERMATOLOGIST :P
My 언니 @MichalJamerson will also make comments and she is also a great resource :)
Also just an FYI, my skin type is very very sensitive that leans more toward the dry side.
Now let's get started! ヾ(。・ω・)シ
Some of the initial benefits of using mud/clay masks you will notice in your skin are smoothness, vitality and it being silky. Mud masks are good for any skin type but those that suffer from conditions like acne will see bigger differences in their skin.
You use mud masks differently so I won't be giving a direct "how to" instructions set but instead I'll give you some tips/tricks I use.
1. Before I use my mud/clay masks I use my toner, let it dry, use the mud mask and let it process, then use my toner again
2. For my actual mud masks I will also put face cream on around my eyes, nose and lips. This helps the mud become more adhesive but also gentle on the skin
3. The longer you leave your mud/clay mask on the better the results for pore care :)
4. I wouldn't suggest using a mud mask every day because they can dry out your skin. I do a mud mask maybe twice a week? It depends on how my skin feels
The first mask I want to talk about I'm sure a lot of you have heard of because it was really popular for a while.
The Carbonated Blue Clay Bubble Mask by Elizavecca Milky Piggy
I bought this on a spur of the moment kinda thing. I thought it was really interesting how it foamed up on your face. This mask is super super fun and fast. You leave it on for only about 10 or so minutes. It is a little difficult to put on because while you have half of your face covered in the clay it starts to bubble before you get the other half finished. It is also REALLY tacky/sticky. It does come with a spatula to help with applying it but in all honesty I didn't notice a difference between that and my fingers. You will waste a decent amount of product sadly. But good thing it is pretty cheap.
This mask does really well for shrinking up your pores I think. I noticed a big difference anyway. However I did notice my skin dried out quite a bit when using this product. I think because it is a "fast acting" product by adding carbonation to the clay it can dry out your skin. It is also very weird to use because it leaves you with a tingling feeling on your face, this is a symptom of the carbonation in the product.

The second mud mask I want to talk about is this Dead Sea Mud Mask.
I instantly fell in love with this product. It is gentle, applies easily, and it really helped my acne and pores. I've always been super self conscious of the pores on my face. I'm sure they are probably fine but if I can see them with a microscope then they are too big... This product made me feel confident that my blackheads were going away, my pores were shrinking and my acne was clearing nicely.
I was really suffering from a never ending break out before I got this product and it was like a night and day difference within a couple of times of using this product. I haven't had to rebuy this product yet and I've owned it for months. I don't skimp out on applying the product either because I want to make sure I have good coverage on my skin.
I usually leave this on my face for about 45 minutes if not longer. So it is definitely a commitment compared to the other carbonated mask. Though the difference in product is also incomparable in my opinion. The two products are similar in ways but they are also incredibly different
Only downside to this product is when you go to remove it. Because it is a full on mud mask it is messy to remove and also put on, but not as much. When removing this product you will need a washcloth of some sort and a warning, IT WILL STAIN. Learned that the hard way haha. This also has the capabilities to stain your sink if you don't wipe it out soon after removing your mask. Also learned this that hard way, hahaha oops!
I would suggest you get this mud mask because it isn't very expensive and it will last you a long time. The benefits of this mask are also amazing. I actually bought this mask as a Christmas present for two of my friends back home, they loved it lol.

The last one I'm going to talk about is a really hot item in Korea right now.
The Mummy Mud Mask
I just recently got these and I have only used them a few times and each time I use them I love them more and more.
They are a sheet mask and a mud mask put together. It was a little weird trying to figure out how to use them the first time so I would suggest looking up a youtube video or something. I failed my first time and pretty much wasted a mask and these aren't exactly cheap. You spend nearly $25 or a box of 5 masks. A little expensive to totally waste one >.>
I like these a lot because I get the same benefits as a mud mask but the easiness of a sheet mask. It does leave a bit of a residue so you will need to wipe your face off once you remove the mask from your face.
I would highly suggest looking up a youtube video on how to use these (I eventually figured it out) but also follow the instructions laid out or you on the packaging.

Well that concludes today's long over due card.
Again thank you guys for being so awesome and waiting for me on these cards while I recovered. You are all wonderful!!
Hopefully all this info was useful to you guys! Please remember these are my own opinions/experiences with these products. Feel free to ask questions but remember I'm not an expert.
Next time on the masks mini series: Sheet masks!
