See How Your Senator Voted for Background Checks 8 days following the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history (#WoundedKnee #Tulsa #Rosewood) lawmakers voted to block efforts to pass common-sense gun laws -- again. But some lawmakers voted the right way, and took a brave stand for life-saving 👪👫👭👬reforms. See how your senator voted below, and then call their offices to tell them how you feel about their decision. ⤵ http://everytown.org/senate-vote-orlando/

During the 15-hour Senate filibuster on gun control, there were 38 shootings that killed 12 people and injured 36 more across America.  That roughly translates to one shooting per every 23 minutes. Source: vox.com gun control

I can't believe that in the United States of America in 2016, there is more chance of electing a President who wants to restrict the travel of a whole religion than there is of restricting access to guns. The sole purpose of a gun is to shoot things. To do damage and harm. They have no other purpose. They are intended to instill fear and threaten, damage and destroy. They can do nothing else. I understand it's a constitutional right...that doesn't make it right. If we stuck with all laws that were in place 200 years ago where would we be?

@NotReallyHere I agree with you, but if you read through the comment section, apparently most people still want their guns, so round and around we go... I think nothing will change, if people don't want changes. Gun culture has its deep root, from what I've read that's not gonna change easily.

@NotReallyHere Let's ban knives, forks, needles, blunt force objects because they are dangerous too. Also ban hands and legs, because unarmed combat is lethal with the right skills. Also ban genitals because they can be used for rape. Lethality is a basic need and only cowards fear it.
