Edward Snowden, who is currently confined to the transit area of Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport, has now filed for asylum in Russia. His request could take up to three months to process, and if he is rejected he will have the chance to appeal. President Putin has said that Snowden will only be allowed to stay if he stops working to undermine the U.S. intelligence community. The now infamous whistleblower plans to get a job and settle in the Russian Federation.
