After about seven or eight (kinda lost count :p) 3 hour sessions it is finally done and with enough time to heal before Otakon. Guyver was the first anime I understood was anime. I had seen Voltron (Golion) and Robotech (Super Dimensional Space Fortress Macross) but didn't recognize them as not being American because I was so young when I watched them. I was introduced to Guyver by a friend when I was 12 and have been hooked on anime ever since. As such it has always held a place in my heart, even the horrible and super cheesy (and arguably racist) live action movie gets a subtle pass from me (grudgingly) because I loved the source material. And while this is not my first tattoo, nearly all of my tattoos are anime based, so I thought it proper that the one that started it all for me be more than just a single image. I turn 34 in 2 weeks. Love of anime and manga has shaped my personality and my life for more than 20 years. It's not just a tattoo to me, it's a thank you. I've met a lot of people through my similar interests in this medium and my life has been a richer experience because of it.
