One of my favorite things about working at Starbucks was experimenting with all of the different ingredients to build my very own custom drinks. Things like the 'Cotton Candy Frappuccino' and the other Starbucks secret menu items can all be traced back to Starbucks baristas who were the perfect balance of caffeinated and bored during a shift.

So it's no surprise to me that three new barista inventions have become something of a cult trend this summer - the Pink Drink, the Purple Drink, and the Orange Drink.

The Pink Drink

What It Is: A Strawberry Acai Refresher with coconut milk and sliced strawberries to add a generous bubble gum pink pop of color
This #PinkDrink was the first of the rainbow trio to hit social media. And considering its bright candy color, it's no wonder it's such an Instagram hit.

The Purple Drink

What It Is: A Passion Iced Tea with soy milk, some vanilla syrup, and a swirling of blackberries to bring out that perfect shade of violet
The Purple Drink has become so popular that even TIME Magazine is wagging their tongue at the trending concoction, writing "Who needs pink when you can go purple?"

The Orange Drink

What It Is: Orange Mango puree combined with two scoops of vanilla bean powder and a splash of coconut milk
With its heavily tropical flavor, the Orange Drink began to trend this week as yet another rainbow secret offering. Some even order this one carbonated for a little extra fizz!

So have you tried any of these new rainbow drinks yet?

And if not, which one do you want to try?

@danidee I think I like the sound of tht lol Ok for the pink- I say it's a bit on the tart side due to the strawberries For the purple- it's sweeter due to the soy milk which personally I like sweeter things... like Dani said it does look prettier then the pink and orange Lmao thts my take on the two XD

@Leolaring Really? Wow, I wouldn't imagine that strawberries could be so tart.

@danidee yeah strawberries tend to get tart in drinks in esp if you take a long time to drink it (I got a venti size) oh and a note for both: I usually don't have this issue with anything else but the coldness of the drinks made a couple of my teeth hurt. It wasn't unbearable but just to note to those who have sensitive teeth. The drink also stayed cold for a long time too so tht was good (besides the whole sensitive teeth issue) lol
