Sorry my cards aren't getting made nightly. :[
I have been so busy and had so much going on it's hard to keep track of everything. But here I am making a card for you i promised like... what 2 weeks ago?
I'm really sorry!!
Before I get started I do want to say thank you to every single one of you for being amazing!
I have reached 25 followers on my collection and about 50 people on my tag list for this mini series! Even once I finish all of the the steps I use I will still make cards talking about new products I'm using or trying or if I have come across new interesting fact/hints/tips. If you don't want to be tagged in these future cards just let me know.
If you are already tagged I will continue to tag you as these cards are created. If you want to be tagged for future cards please just leave a comment requesting it. Though if you are currently tagged and wish to be removed from the tag list, please let me know.
Feel free to ask me questions about anything but my answers will mostly be experience/opinion based, I AM NOT A DERMATOLOGIST :P
My 언니 @MichalJamerson will also make comments and she is also a great resource :)
Also just an FYI, my skin type is very very sensitive that leans more toward the dry side.

Today's card is going to be about Essence! Woot!
Essence is known for being the heart of the Korean skin care line. It is a step that was created by Korea and it is also a very important step. When I started my research about Korean skin care I came to notice that many people don't understand what essence is and still to this day even I am still trying to fully understand.
What I have found is that there seems to be two types of essences. This is hard to believe because it seems as if a lot of people and maybe even companies are getting confused between the difference between serums and essence.
Essence is watery and can be found as a lotion or a liquid. No matter the form it is runny/watery. The purpose of essence is to hydrate your skin 10 fold, balance out pH levels and so much more. Essence also had a lot of anti-aging qualities. Essence is known for creating a stronger skin foundation for long term improvement. Most essences are formulated to increase the cellular turnover rate of your skin in order to create a porcelain like appearance to your skin.
Essence isn't for all skin types. Those who typically will use essence are those that have dryer skin types. Those who have oily skin or really struggle from acne may not need or like essence. You skin may reject it and have issues when using essence. However there are different types of essences that are available so there may be one for you available.
Depending on the consistency of your essence depends on how you use it. Please be sure to review the instructions on the product or if you can't translate them be sure to look up a youtube video or article to help you.
The first essence I used and still use to this day is one of the most popular ones in Korea.
Time Revolution Essence by Missha
I fell in love with this product instantly. I used this product after my serums and before my lotions. This product is very water and runny so in order to not waste a lot of it I make sure to put it into a spritzer bottle and spray my face. I use the product at this point in my skin care routine because it was suggested to me to use it at this point by a number of other bloggers when I was started all of this. If I remembered their blogs or had them saved I would be sharing the links. :( sorry I don't.
This product made a major difference in my skin. I believe that every piece of my skin care routine has made a major difference but this one in particular has made a noticeable difference. I actually ran out of this product and couldn't find it anywhere on line to purchase. I was without it for a couple of months. Yes, my skin looked good without it, but my skin looks BETTER with it. My break outs are fewer, my smile lines aren't as noticeable, my skin is brighter, the tone more even and much more.
I never noticed any break outs when using this product, infact I have noticed less. I believe this product provides a lot to my skin that it needs and helps to prevent the breakouts that I hate.
I highly suggest this product to you if you have dryer/more sensitive skin.
Please keep in mind that this product is expensive. If you are interested in trying out this product click here
One of the few samples I got to try was from Laneige.
The lady at my local Korean skin product store gave it to me to try.
It is an essence from their Time Freeze collection, aiming more toward anti aging. This essence is a lotion type of essence.
When trying this product I really liked it. It was very light and gentle on my skin. However, I don't feel like I really got to see any benefit from it. I was having a really bad break out at the time when trying this product and I know this product didn't help clear that break out up. I don't think it was a cause to making it worse either. This product was really nice on my skin and had somewhat of a cooling effect, which I liked.
I may actually purchase this product to try again but for long term because I just don't feel like I had enough time with it. But it is also really pricey

The Whitehead Power Liquid from Cosrx didn't do much for me. (sample)
I don't have an issue with Whiteheads so maybe that is why I didn't see a difference. This product is suppose to help reduce the appearance of whiteheads, help eleminate them and all that jazz.
This product didn't irritate my skin or anything but I also didn't get any noticeable benefit from it either.

The Whitening Power Essence from Cosrx is THE worst. (sample)
As soon as I used this product my skin was on fire. It burned so badly. I have never had that feeling before. I only used a very small amount as well.
I washed my face again trying to get it off but it only made the feeling worse. Probably because I was more or less rubbing the product further into my skin.
The burning feeling on my face lasted for nearly 2 days. I didn't have a break out, I didn't have any kind of allergic reaction as I was expecting to have other than the burning.
This just goes to show that before you put a product fully on your face, do a test area. I shouldn't have just rubbed the stuff all over, I should have put a small dot on my cheek and tested it.
I'm not 100% sure what this product is meant to do other than REALLY increase the whiteness of your skin. Because of the reaction I had I didn't bother looking into it further. Though if you are interested in the product and would like me to look further into it, let me know and I would be happy to help.
If you think this will be a good product for your skin and would like to try it click here
Well that is it for essence today guys! Hopefully this information was useful. Again sorry I haven't been posting a whole lot. I will also not be posting for another 5 or so day because I will be out of town. At least this time I can give you a warning.
Remember that essence isn't for all skin types so when looking into the products please be sure to do your research and make sure it is a good match for your skin. Also do a test area with the product to make sure your face isn't going to turn into a BTS music video title like mine attempted to do.
Of course, these are my own opinions/experiences with these products. Feel free to ask questions but remember I'm not an expert
Next time: Emulsions (Lotion)
We are almost done guys! Just 2 more steps!
But remember I will be posting cards in the future about new products I'm trying and what not. :)
