We see it in movies, my college roommate did it, its part of pop culture: the infamous one-night-stand.

For me, even the idea of just being a hook-up or a booty call is lame (I just can't do it) but I understand that some people totally love that life style.

One song that was huge recently is about this phenomenon:

Sam Smith - Stay With Me

Guess it's true, I'm not good at a one-night stand
But I still need love 'cause I'm just a man
These nights never seem to go to plan
I don't want you to leave, will you hold my hand?
Sam talks about how he isn't good at one night stands because he gets too attached. He knows "This ain't love it's clear to see" and "deep down I know this never works" but still he find himself in these situations.

For me, I'd never be able to emotionally handle it, but what about you?

Would you ever had a one night stand?

sometimes when you're at a club and you meet someone who you just have an animal attraction to, stuff happens... since we're on an adult topic please excuse the adult language but, there is. distinct difference between making love and fucking... even me and my wife don't always make love... sometimes we just gotta fuck. When you go out (when single) sometimes you just want to go have fun and maybe fuck like it's your last night on earth... There's nothing wrong with that as long as you made no false pretenses or lied to get it
Interesting thing is that I use that song for my full relationships. lol It fits quite well. Except for the "guess it's true I'm not good at a one night stand". Anywho, yeah, when I'm single, I always have one night stands. Regardless of everything I put into relationships and how highly I regard both them and people I respect, I'm a 20 year old male. I work 45-55 hours a week, I go to school 30 hours a week. Sometimes, you just need release and yourself won't do. Having a warm (hot, sweaty) body matching, or in some cases exceeding, your desire does wonders. Now, do I go brag to everybody in a 10 mile radius? No. But I do partake and enjoy.... ah, discovering different people in less than "socially acceptable" ways in a short time. Two consenting adults both benefiting is not a bad thing.
Nope. I think today's society has seperated the act of sex from love and has made it into a commodity. sex is sold, paid for, promoted on tv, and its become just an act of physical pleasure. I am more old school and would rather experience it with someone special
I mean I've never slept with anyone I just met that night and wouldn't. It isn't for me. Sex is for people whom I have a connection with and know but I can understand the concept. It's a way to be detached and having sex is good for you. I wouldn't say having one night stands all the time is good for you though.
My experiences have been more like hookups than one-night-stands. I only do hookups with people I'll probably never meet again. That is the perfect time to experiment, practice, and self-discover. I'm trying to be selfish. I've tried friends with benefits, but I can't do it because I always catch feelings, and that muddies our friendship. For me there's a very thin line between sex and attachment. I'm one of the people that would rather have both at the same time.
