Has Anyone Tried Bubble Tea?

There are two names for this popular Taiwanese beverage. 1. Boba Milk Tea 波霸奶茶 (bōbà nǎi-chá) 2. Pearl Milk Tea 珍珠奶茶 (zhēn-zhū nǎi-chá)

The first name is the most commonly used in the US. If you're in Taiwan or Hong Kong you often hear the second name. I also heard other people calling it tapioca tea.
Boba Milk Tea is one of my favorite beverage during summer. There are many flavors flavors to choose from and the chewy tapioca makes it a fun after meal dessert. It's easy to make at home or you can grab a cup at a nearby tea shops that specializes in bubble tea. Some of my favorite tea shops in LA are: 1. Half & Half (Pasadena, Monterey Park) You can customize your drinks! My favorite is Sea Salt Almond Milk Green Tea with Boba. 2. Tea Station / Ten Ren Tea (Monterey Park). Winter melon bubble tea is a good one!

What's your experience with boba milk tea?
