(Forward to present day) Y/N POV
I woke up in a bed unknown to me, in a room unknown to me. I look around the room trying to gather my thoughts.
“Where am I?” I ask myself, this as I hear a woman calling for me.
“Y/N, Y/N, come down for breakfast.” It was an older woman’s voice and it reminded me of my Aunt. I get out of bed, slip on the slippers that were by the bed and head down the stairs. I looked around the house, and out of the corner of my eye I see a figure walking out and placing food on a table.
“Good morning sleeping beauty.” The woman said. I had to blink a few times, but she looked exactly like my Aunt. I quickly run towards her and give her the biggest and tightest hug I can.
“Y/N, what’s wrong?” My Aunt asks me with a chuckle. I shake my head and pull back she notices I’m crying and wipe my tears away.
“I thought I’d never see you again.” I reply. My Aunt looked at me confused by my words.
“What do you mean dear?” She asks.
“Nothing, I had a nightmare.” I reply. My Aunt moves the hair away from my face and smiles at me.
“Come eat some breakfast before you need to leave for work okay.” She said as she moved me to the table and sat me down in the chair. I nod my head in response.
(Back in the past)
“Y/N!” There’s no response from her, she’s limp in my arms, I carry her out of the river and place her on the ground. I look her over to see if there’s any injury, but I didn’t see anything, I don’t understand how she was fine one minute and then goes limp the next. I shake her, there’s no response. I hear my men coming over they heard me shouting her name.
“SIR! SIR!!” They all shout to me as they came running towards us. They stop in their tracks as soon as they see her on the ground and wet.
“Did she drown sir?” One of my men asked. I shook my head.
“I don’t know what happened one minute she’s fine next she’s cold as death.” I explain. My brother comes over and looks her over. Whispering near me.
“Brother, this is bad, if she’s dead Master Sato will kill us.” He said.
“You don’t think I know that.” I reply, I look at her again and that’s when I notice a small needle in her neck. I pull out the needle, out of the corner of my eye I think I see something shimmer in the moonlight across the river, it was faint and I turned my head to confirm I wasn’t seeing things, and I see it again.
“Men we aren’t alone someone else is here, search the perimeter.” I called out my men and the quickly pulled out their swords and left to check the perimeter. I pick up Y/N and carry her in my arms back to the fire. As I lay her down I run my hand down to her wrist and I feel a faint pulse, so I knew she was alive, maybe close to death she was poisoned.
“Stay with her, protect her.” I tell my brother as I quickly get up and start running towards the area where I saw the shinning object. I run through the forest, blade out, prepared to stab anything that gets in my way. After running for a while I stop, I take a deep breath and hold it, I listen of my surroundings that’s when I hear a twig breaking. I wasn’t paying close attention when I lost my footing and started rolling down a slope into a ravine.
When I come too, the sun is shining through the trees. I move slowly standing up, I look around. I don’t know where I am, but I remember which way I came, so if I follow it back I can make it back to camp.
Miura’s POV (Takuya’s brother)
“Where is he?” Yamashita asked me in a rage.
“I don’t know he left last night to search for the enemy. You didn’t run into him at all?” I asked.
“No sir, we didn’t.” Kamiki replied.
“No sir.” Kamenashi replied as well.
“How is Miss. Y/N doing? Is she dead sir?” Kamenashi asked. We all look over our shoulders at the girl lying next to where the fire had been the night before.
“I’m not sure.” I reply, I turn my head back facing the forest, that’s when I see my brother walking towards us.
“Takuya!” The men turn their heads and look in the direction in front of them, they see my brother. I see my brother lift his head, he has his hands on his hips, and he was walking with a limp. I run towards him.
“Are you alright what happened?” I ask him. I grab his arm and place it over me should to help him walk.
“I’m fine, I just fell down a ravine.” Takuya replied. The men scurry around to get him some water and start the fire again. Takuya walks over to Y/N and feels for her pulse again.
“Is she alive?” Yamashita asked.
“It’s faint but her pulse is still there. I think we need to get her to Master Sato immediately, at least he can have a doctor look at her.” Takuya replied.
We make our preparations to leave.
“Are you sure this is a good idea, I mean Master Sato is- “I try to finish, but Takuya stops me.
“We’ll be fine.” Takuya reassured me. I smile at him putting my trust in my brother.
We reach Master Sato’s castle; Sato is waiting for us. I see him standing at the bottom of the entrance into his castle.
Takuya is holding Y/N in front of him, “She must have fallen asleep being on such a long journey.” Sato thinks of himself. His expression changes from happy to worried in a blink of an eye as he watches Takuya’s men come and help him with her.
“Is she alright?” Sato asks Takuya as he comes to a stop, his men quickly come over to help him get Y/N down. After Takuya gets off his horse, he takes Y/N from Yamashita and walks over to Sato.
“Sir, she’s alive but her pulse is faint. I don’t know what happened sir.” Takuya explains. Sato places his hand on Y/N’s face.
“Let’s get her to a room, get the physician. NOW!” Sato screamed. “Follow me.” Sato said to Takuya as he carries Y/N to a room. Takuya places her carefully on the bed. Sato went to get some things the physician may need. Takuya places his hand on Y/N’s face caressing it softly, a tear leaving his eye.
“Please Y/N come back to me. I can’t be without you. Even if your married to Sato please, just come back to me.” Takuya whispers then he leans down and kisses Y/N’s soft cold lips. He moves away quickly when he hears the door beginning to rattle open.
