It's time to introduce the lovely ladies of Red Velvet!

Red Velvet is a five member, South Korean girl group under SM Entertainment. They debuted on August 1, 2014 with the original members Seulgi, Irene, Wendy, and Joy with the song "Happiness." They were SM's first girl group to debut in five years since f(x). The group's name represents its concept, defined by two different images (Red and Velvet) portrayed in their music and performances. "Red" signifies their vivid and bold image, whereas "Velvet" reflects their classy and toned-down side. The video for "Happiness" gained over two million views within 24 hours, but was taken down due to controversial background images and was replaced with the edited version. "Happiness," was the second most-viewed kpop video for the month of August that year. Red Velvet then released their second digital single called "Be Natural" along with its music video on October 13, 2014. The song, which includes a rap verse by NCT member Taeyong, is a remake of the 2000 song by S.E.S., S.M. Entertainment's first girl group. On March 11, 2015, it was announced that former S.M. Rookies member Yeri would be joining the group. On March 15, the release of their second mini album "Ice Cream Cake" was released. They promoted it with the double lead singles "Automatic" and "Ice Cream Cake," and released the videos for both songs on March 14 and 15. On March 27, they won their first music show win on KBS's Music Bank. In August of 2015, they held their first U.S performance at KCON 2015 in Los Angeles, California. Red Velvet released their first full-length album, The Red, on September 9, 2015, with ten tracks including the lead single "Dumb Dumb." It was an immediate success and was received positively by critics. The Red debuted at #1 on Billboard's World Albums Chart and South Korea's Gaon Album Chart, and also appeared in Billboard's list of the "10 Best K-Pop Albums of 2015", which described the album as "one of the year's most enjoyable and experimental pop LPs." "Dumb Dumb" peaked at number three on Billboard World Digital Songs chart, making it the best-selling K-pop song in America of the week. The single also topped the list of the "Top 20 K-pop Tracks of 2015" by Dazed. The music video for "Dumb Dumb" was included as the only non-English language entry in Rolling Stone's "10 Best Music Videos of 2015." On December 18, the group took part in SM's winter project "Winter Garden," along with f(x) and BoA. They released the digital single "Wish Tree." Red Velvet's second mini album The Velvet was intended to be released on March 16, 2016, but ten minutes before its scheduled release, S.M. Entertainment announced that the music video and album's release would be delayed "to guarantee a high quality of work". The album and the title track "One of These Nights" (Korean title: 7월 7일) was released on March 17, 2016. On May 28, 2016, S.M. Entertainment announced that Red Velvet will have a summer comeback.
