DAY 2 - All time favorite asian drama?

I can't choose just one, so I will say my favorite drama from Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese. I mean I could choose one which would be my all time favorite drama, Pinocchio but I wanted to choose one from each country.

Pinocchio (PLOT) - The idealistic Choi In Ha (Park Shin-hye) has her work cut out for her when she becomes a broadcast journalist, especially when she suffers from a condition known as “Pinocchio syndrome,” which makes her break out into hiccups whenever she tells a lie. Her rookie colleagues include Choi Dal Po (Lee Jong-suk), whose shabby appearance masks his true eloquence and sharp memory; Seo Bum Jo, a wealthy heir who has had everything handed to him in life; and Yoon Yoo Rae, whose fangirl knowledge comes in handy in covering the news. The 20-something newbie reporters pursue justice as they try to discover themselves in the process. WHY? First off, Pinocchio is my favorite asian drama of them all! I love it so much, for starters I love a drama that can make me bawl my eyes out. Especially when it can make me cry in the 1st episode just like Pinocchio did. In the 1st episode they tell the back story of Dal Po and his family, we hear what happens to his father, mother and him. It's a tragic past, that no child should ever go through but he did and so did his older brother who is still alive but the older brother thinks that Dal Po and his mother both committed suicide a long time ago. But only the mom did and Dal Po was saved by a fisherman and know lives with In Ha. It's a very deep and intriguing story that I love, it's very complex and unique. In Ha has Pinocchio syndrome which is where if you tell a lie, you will hiccup until you tell the truth about that lie. Her dream is to become a reporter like her mom but no one thinks she can do it because reporter's lie all the time but she wants to put news out that is true. Dal Po has always loved In Ha since they were young and In Ha slowly starts to like Dal Po too. Romance blossoms between them. Dal Po despises reporters because of what they did to his family in the past, specifically In Ha's mother. But he becomes a reporter with In Ha and the story goes from there. They get straight to the point of the backstory in the 1st episode and don't take 3 episodes to tell it which is nice and it's not boring either. I won't get to into detail because it gets interesting. So, if you think the plot sounds good go check it out for yourself! Another reason I love this drama is because Park Shin-hye is my favorite actress and I've seen most of her dramas. But what I like about this drama is thanks to Lee Jong-suk, the kiss scenes weren't lacking at all like her usual kiss scenes. This is the only drama in my opinion where her kiss scenes are good and the chemistry is great between the main leads. Pinocchio has humor, romance and tons of drama with a great storyline, awesome soundtrack and amazing actors! Great cast!!!

Just You (PLOT) - Qi Yi (Aaron Yan) is a fastidious young man who is afraid of germs and needs to have everything in his life in his own orderly fashion. After he gives up a successful opportunity in New York, he returns to Taiwan and decides to buy a small marketing design company called GAZE and a historic home that catches his eye. The problem is that the home has a peppy tenant, Cheng Liang Liang (Puff Guo), who refuses to move out. When he arrives at his new company, the new CEO discovers that Liang Liang also works for his company. The happy-go-lucky Liang Liang just wants everything to be stable in her life, but she realizes that may be harder to maintain when her new boss starts making big changes in her workplace, including a notice stating that office romances will be prohibited. WHY? "Just You" is a well put together drama that left me smiling at least once in every episode. It made me cry a lot, no joke. Every time I saw that sad Liang Liang crying, I couldn't help but cry with her. She just looked so sad and helpless. (SPOILER ALERT) When Qi Yi accidently killed her fish and replaced it with another fish. She knew right away that it wasn't her fish and was questioning what happened to her fish. Qi Yi said that it was an accident, she got really mad and sad after he sad that it died. She started crying and yelling. I felt so bad for her, she had that fish since she was young but he went and got her a different fish and didn't think she would notice but she did right away. IT WAS A DIFFERENT GENDER!!! Well, that incident helped the couple to grow closer because they ended up raising that new fish together, it was their baby. (SPOILER OVER) Qi Yi and Liang Liang are my favorite Taiwanese couple because of their enormous amount of chemistry and adorable romance. The kiss scenes always make my heart flutter. The cute scenes that make me squeal because of Aaron Yan are amazing. I love the storyline, just because I've always been a fan of dramas that somehow make the soon to be couple live together and develop feelings for each other. It makes for adorable scenes. They are sometimes comedic towards one another and I love it! The side characters are a joy to watch, besides the side chick. I don't really care about her anyway, she eventually left them alone in the end. I love all of the OST's played throughout the drama, they were catchy, upbeat and fun to listen to. It's a bright and bubbly drama. The ending is perfect and I was completely satisfied. "Just You" is an amazing office romantic, comedy full of drama and romance that will make you squeal!

Hana Yori Dango (PLOT) - Makino Tsukushi is the only poor student at Eitoku Gakuen, the school of the ridiculously rich and privileged that is ruled by Flower 4 or F4, a group of four boys who come from extremely powerful families: Domyoji Tsukasa, the leader and heir of the Domyoji World Finance Group; Hanazawa Rui, the introverted son of a large company; Nishikado Sojiro, a player who is the heir of a tea ceremony school; and Mimasaka Akira, a madam killer with ties to the underground. If a student gets on the F4's bad side, he/she gets a red notice and is bullied and driven out of school. Makino hopes to pass her days quietly - without drawing any attention to herself - but one day, she stands up to Domyoji in defense of her friend. The next day, Makino gets the dreaded red notice. Even though she is harassed, Makino decides to keep going to school because she is a "tough weed". She declares war right back on the F4. Her resolve gets the attention of her crush Hanazawa Rui and oddly enough, rouses romantic feelings in her worst enemy, Domyoji Tsukasa. WHY? I haven't seen many Japanese dramas, I've seen a few of the really popular ones like Hana Kimi and Mischievous Kiss: Love In Tokyo and a couple other ones. But Hana Yori Dango stuck out to me the most and it was my favorite that I've seen so far. It was memorable and enjoyable to watch. The main couple was really cute and the chemistry was definitely there unlike the Korean versions Boys Over Flowers. I'm not hating on the Korean version, I actually love both the Japanese and Korean version equally. There are points that I like more in the Korean version than the Japanese version and vise versa. I love the OST Flavor of Life, I always catch myself singing it. Domyoji was hilarious to watch and super cocky of a character at times, probably worse than Go Jun-pyo. Makino is such a likable character to watch and her acting is on point, I could feel her emotions come to life. I love the Boys Over Flowers storyline, who doesn't love to watch 4 flower boys? Although it's a little older, it's still great to watch. I just watched it for the 1st time a few months ago. Hana Yori Dango made me cry quite a few times and also made me laugh. Most of all it was a great romance, poor girl, rich guy drama full of great characters.

I encourage all of you to play along by making your own cards or answer in the comments, what is YOUR all time favorite asian drama!

@VIPforever123 I laughed when the female lead got caught. She actually thought that she could hide 7 (I think) children in one house.
@Mavis2478 LOL ikr?! The little boy was over there talking about how 5 and 7 are no different just two more. XD
I haven't seen the last one. I will now added it to my repotoire
@cindystran Yeah, it was really sad but the sweet moments make it better! So, you should definitely get back to watching it! 😁
